Description
The Knoll is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, with a 20th-century extension on the left side. It is constructed from ironstone ashlar, featuring Uppingham stone plinths and dressings. The roof is made of Collyweston slate and has coped gables with moulded kneelers, along with a brick chimney on the left and an ashlar chimney on the right. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a total of three bays.
There are flush band courses at the first floor and eaves level. The windows are renewed 3-pane sashes set in Uppingham stone surrounds, with keyblocks on the ground floor. To the right, there is a basement window featuring a pair of 20th-century wooden lights and a central stone mullion. The central entrance has a six-panelled door in a wooden frame with a depressed arch, all within a raised stone surround that has a narrow moulding along the edge and a moulded keyblock. The door is accessed by five stone steps with wrought iron handrails. An attic window is located in the right gable. The 20th-century two-storey bay on the left is made of colourwashed roughcast and has three-light barred wooden casements, with the lower section slightly canted.
