Description
Jasmine Cottage is a house that may date back to the 17th century, with a date of 1741 marked on its ashlar front. The left bay and rear are constructed from coursed ironstone rubble, while the right bays have been refronted in ironstone ashlar, featuring Uppingham stone sill and lintel bands, along with a raised first floor band course. The building has a thatched roof, with a rubble stone chimney between the left bays that was rebuilt in the 20th century, and a brick chimney with a thin brick base on the right.
The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays, with the left bay gabled at the front. The right bays contain 20th-century paired leaded casements set in raised Uppingham stone surrounds, where the mullions have been removed. There is a door between the right bays in a similar surround, which includes a pulvinated panel, a date plaque, and a fire insurance plaque above. The left bay features 20th-century paired leaded casements, with two on the ground floor and one above, along with a 20th-century door in a thatched porch. At the rear, there are two stone mullion windows on the first floor, with the left window having been re-sited.
Inside, the cottage has a stop-chamfered spine beam and a chamfered fireplace lintel in the centre bay.
