Description

This is a part of a former barn, now a house, dating to the late 15th to early 16th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble, with 20th-century red brick gables and an asbestos slate roof. It features brick chimneys on the gables, with the right-hand gable having a coped finish. The house has two storeys and two bays. A chamfered plinth is present. There is an offset buttress with a chamfered gablet to the left side, along with a similar buttress and part of another to the rear. The windows are 20th-century three-light metal casements with concrete lintels and blue brick sills, with small gables above the upper windows. A central 20th-century half-glazed door is set within a concrete surround. A single-storey 20th-century extension to the left has a flat roof and incorporates part of the rear wall of the original barn. Inside, the roof is supported by double purlins, with two trusses featuring chamfered arch-braces to the collars.
