Description
Garden Cottage and pump is a Grade II listed building composed of two separate parts, built in 1668 and 1881. The older section, located on the right, features coursed rubble and a thatched roof. It is 1½ storeys high with a two-unit plan and a central through passage behind the main stack. Above the door, there is a date inscription with the initials GP and a floral motif. To the right of the door, the lower unit slightly projects and has a 3-light casement window with a chamfered timber lintel. There is a similar window on each floor to the left of the doorway.
Adjoining to the left is the taller block from 1881, also made of coursed rubble but with a Welsh slate roof. This section is two storeys high with 1½ bays. It features a French window on the ground floor with a stone head, and an upper sash window that has quoins, voussoirs, and a keystone. The left side has angle quoins, one of which displays the date and initials SW.
In the garden, there is a woodcased pump with a stone-lined chamber or cistern below.
