Description
26 High Street West is a house with origins dating back to the 17th century, featuring a datestone from 1616 that was added to the rear in 1981. The building is constructed of stone, rendered and painted white, and is topped with a Welsh slate roof, which was originally thatched, and has brick end stacks. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. The central door, dating from the 19th century, is located beneath a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. The windows are horizontally-sliding sash types, with three lights on the ground floor and two lights with smaller panes on the first floor. Inside, the first-floor doors have overlights made of rectangular panes of old glass, which may have come from previous windows at the front.
