Description

No. 28 Main Street is a house that features late 18th century to 19th century remodelling of an earlier building, with the right bay constructed differently. The exterior is made of coursed ironstone rubble, topped with a 20th century concrete tile roof, which has stone coping and a moulded kneeler on the left gable. There are two brick chimneys located at the centre of the building. The house has two storeys and four bays, with two and three-light wood and metal casements that have wooden lintels and Uppingham stone sills. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed 20th century door with a wooden lintel above it. Additionally, there is a 20th century extension at the rear of the right bay. This building is included for its group value.
