Description

Rowan Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th to 17th century, significantly remodelled in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a 20th-century concrete tile roof, raised eaves, and brick chimneys. The two-story, two-bay facade features 20th-century wooden casement windows with single horizontal glazing bars; a two-light window is on the left, and a three-light window is on the right, with the lower right window having a stone lintel. A 20th-century half-glazed door with a wooden lintel is located on the right, with a blocked doorway to the left. Traces of blocked openings with stone surrounds are visible in the right gable. A 20th-century extension exists to the rear.

Inside, a central partition wall has a four-centred chamfered stone doorway with an old board door leading to the rear. A stop-chamfered spine beam is visible in the right room.
