Description

The Allen Monument stands in the churchyard of St Peter’s Church, Empingham. Constructed in 1849, it is a stone monument in a classical style. The monument comprises a plinth supporting a square, moulded pedestal approximately one and a half metres high. The top of the pedestal is surmounted by an ornate cinerary urn. An inscription details the monument’s dedication to William Allen, who died in 1849. It is included on the list because of its group value within the churchyard.
