Description

The monument to William Allen is located in the churchyard about 6 metres south of the south transept of the Church of St Mary. It is a low chest tomb from the early 19th century, made of sandstone. The tomb has a flat, fully inscribed top with square edges, plain sides, and a simple base. It commemorates William Allen, who died in 1810. This monument has an identical design to the adjacent Ann Allen monument to the south and is the central piece in a group of three monuments arranged in a north-south orientation.
