Description

No 29, the Health Food Shop and John Culshaw, is a house that incorporates shops, dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It is built of squared stone and features a Welsh slate roof with coped gables and brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. There is a blocked door on the left side. In the center, there are two probably 19th-century four-centred arched entrances; the left one is a throughway, while the right one has a part-glazed door from the 19th century. Above these entrances is a two-light window. On either side, there are 19th-century canted stone bay windows, with the larger one on the left featuring a shop window on the ground floor and a shop door next to it on the right. The building also has three hipped two-light dormers and a two-light ovolo-moulded stone mullioned window at the rear. Additionally, there is a rubble wing at the back of No 29 and a 19th-century brick wing at the back of No 31.
