Description

Nos 42 and 44 on High Street East are a house originating from the 17th century. The building is constructed of ashlar and features a Collyweston stone slate roof, with a coped west gable and brick ridge and end stacks, the ridge stack resting on a stone base. It has one and a half storeys. On the left side, there is a two-storey canted bay window that breaks through the eaves, with a 20th-century door positioned to the right of it. To the right, there is a 19th-century panelled and part-glazed door, flanked by 19th-century bow shop windows that are framed by pilasters. Above, there is a two-light casement dormer that just breaks through the eaves.
