Description
This building is a lodge, now functioning as a house, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features a hipped roof with patterned tiles and a tile crest. A large side wall stack has three coped octagonal flues. There is a dentillated band at the first floor level. The lodge is two storeys high and has a symmetrical arrangement of windows, with two sets of two windows. The windows are primarily casements with stone mullions. The first-floor windows are located in dormers that extend through the eaves and have shouldered coped gables.
On the drive side, there is an open wooden porch with a steeply gabled roof that shelters a plank door, with a 20th-century window to the right and a dormer above. The left side, facing Derby Road, features a canted bay window with four lights and a hipped roof. Above the bay window, there is another dormer, and to the left of it, a blank wall. At the rear of the building, there is a similar dormer.
