Description
No. 7 Byard Lane is a clothing factory built around 1880, which has since been converted into a bar in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof in the Renaissance Revival style. It has a cornice at the ground floor and a string course at the second floor, along with ashlar bands. The windows are primarily plain sashes and the building stands two storeys high with attics, featuring a four-window range.
On the ground floor, to the left, there is a projecting ashlar doorcase with a round-arched opening, flanked by heavily rusticated Ionic columns on pedestals. This is accompanied by a pair of wrought-iron gates and half-glazed double doors, which have a glazing bar overlight and sidelights. To the right, there are three tripartite sashes separated by pilasters. Above these, there are round-arched tripartite sashes with fanlights, adorned with polychrome arches and keystones, and pilasters between the outer windows. The attics feature four paired sashes with ashlar mullions.
Inside, the porch has a glazed tile dado, and the entrance hall showcases round arches and a moulded cornice.
