Description

These are a pair of houses dating from around 1845, located on Forest Road East in Nottingham. The construction is primarily brick with a stucco-covered front, incorporating ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The houses have brick ridge and gable stacks, which have been rebuilt. Architectural details include a plinth, eaves cornice, and blocking course, characteristic of the Italianate style.

The windows are mainly sash windows. The houses are two stories high plus attics, with a four-window front. The front facade is symmetrical, with a projecting central section topped by a pediment. The central section features a pair of French windows with pediments supported by brackets, flanked by giant pilasters. Above the French windows is a pair of segment-arched windows with margin lights. A smaller two-light window with round-arched lights sits above that. The side bays contain renewed doors with fanlights; the fanlight to the left is original. Single round-arched windows are positioned above the doors in the side bays.
