Description
The war memorial at the south entrance to Nottingham High School was built around 1920. It is made of rockfaced Bulwell stone and Portland stone ashlar, featuring a bronze figure and plaques. The memorial includes a life-size figure of a junior officer in battle equipment, positioned on a square pedestal that has a cornice and a moulded base. The front displays a scrolled crest and an inscription, while bronze plaques are located on the other sides. The base is lobed and features three steps. The memorial is situated on a semicircular platform, which has central ashlar steps and rock-faced stone retaining walls with chamfered coping.
