Description
This is a pair of houses located at 12 and 14 Forest Road East, built around 1845. They are constructed of brick with a stucco front, featuring ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The houses have two panelled brick ridge and gable stacks, two of which have been rebuilt. The design includes a plinth, eaves cornice, and a blocking course, showcasing an Italianate style. The windows are primarily original plain sashes.
The buildings are two storeys tall with attics and have a four-window range in a T-plan layout. The symmetrical front features a projecting center under a pediment, flanked by paired giant pilasters. In the center, there are two tripartite sashes, with the right one reglazed, both topped with pediments. Above these are two triple windows with round-arched lights, and above again is a smaller two-light window, also with round-arched lights. The side bays have renewed doors with fanlights, and above them are single round-arched windows, each accompanied by single giant pilasters.
