Description
The gate piers at the west entrance to the Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham date from the mid-19th century. They are made of rockfaced Bulwell stone with ashlar dressings. The piers are square with chamfered corners, featuring rock-faced bases and foliage cornices. Each pier is topped with a pyramidal cap that has cross gables. These gate piers are part of a series of similar designs created by Nottingham Corporation for the entrances to the Forest and Waterloo Promenade.
