Description
The Boer War memorial, dated 1903, is located near the south-west corner of the Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham. It was presented by Thomas I Birkin, a lace manufacturer. The memorial features a pink granite obelisk that stands approximately 3 meters high, set on a square pedestal with a plinth and a sandblasted inscription. It has a stepped square base with domed corner pedestals.
