Description

The Hollings Monument, located approximately 1 metre east of the porch of the Church of St. Michael and Our Lady, is a tomb chest from the early 18th century. It commemorates Peter Hollings, who died in 1726. The monument is made of sandstone and features panelled sides with square baluster corners. It has a raised shouldered panel adorned with winged angel heads in the spandrels and elegant serif lettering, starting with a raised decorated initial "H" in a sunk panel. The monument also includes additions for Judeth, the wife of Peter, who died in 1733, and their son Peter, who died in 1737, all inscribed in matching script.
