Description
2-8 Castrop Rauxel Square, formerly known as Bond Terrace, is an early to mid-19th century terrace of four houses that has been thoroughly restored. Each house is three stories tall with two windows on the front. The buildings are constructed of red brick and feature a fairly low pitched slated roof. The wood eaves cornice has been renewed, and the second-floor sash windows have glazing bars. The first-floor windows are long casements with transoms and margin lights, opening onto a full-width ornamental cast iron balcony. The outer houses project slightly from the main structure. The ground floor is banded rusticated stucco. There are four modern steps leading to the doors, which consist of two long panels with oblong fanlights, set back in plain reveals. The sash windows also have similar plain reveals.
