Description
71 Northgate is a substantial house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It has three storeys and five windows. The building is constructed of red brick with stone dressings, which include a plinth band, a ground floor cill band, a top frieze, and a cornice featuring diagonal dentils that conceal a very low pitched hipped roof covered with Welsh slate. The returns have paired brackets supporting the eaves gutters. The replaced sash windows are adorned with finely gauged flat brick arches and stone cills. The central entrance features an early 20th-century neo-classical stone doorcase.
