Description

This milestone, located approximately 10 metres north of the junction with Branch Road in Crigglestone, dates from the mid 19th century. It features an arch-headed stone that is overlaid with a cast-iron section shaped like a triangle. The letters on the milestone are in relief, with the top reading "WAKEFIELD & DENBYDALE ROAD CRIGGLESTONE." The left face indicates "DENBY 4 MILES," while the right face shows "WAKEFIELD 6 1/2 MILES."
