SHARLSTON THE GREEN Gazebo and boundary wall of garden to west of Sharlston Hall.

Boundary wall on south and west sides of garden, probably C17; with gazebo in north-west corner, probably C18. Wall of coursed sandstone blocks, gazebo of brown hand-made brick with sandstone dressings and stone slate roof. Wall is approx. 75 metres long on each side, with rounded south-west corner; and approx. 2 metres high; doorway in centre of each side; shallow ridged coping. Gazebo in square single cell built into north-west corner. Single storey over a basement; raised doorway in south side approached by flight of 9 steps parallel to garden wall; low opening to basement in east side wall. North and west sides open, with vase-shaped pillar at north-west corner and square pillars at other corners. Pyramidal roof. Structure dilapidated at time of survey (1986), but remains of coved ceiling visible inside.
