Description
The gazebo and attached garden wall, located about 20 meters southeast of Tirley Hill Farm, date from the 18th century, with the wall having sections from both the 18th and 19th centuries. The gazebo is constructed of brick and features a red tile roof. It has a square plan with a projecting stack at the southwest corner, although the upper part of the stack has been removed. The right-hand wall of the gazebo connects to the garden wall, which stands approximately 2.5 meters high and extends away from the gazebo towards the house, stepping down the slope for about 15 meters. The upper section of the wall is from the 19th century, while the lower section is from the 18th century. The gazebo itself is two stories tall, with a band separating the ground and first floors. The upper floor is illuminated by 18-pane sash windows with gauged brick heads. An oval opening on the southeast side of the ground floor suggests that it may have been used as a columbarium. The gazebo has a pyramidal roof and is only accessible from the road. The interior has not been inspected.
