Description

Old Farm is a detached farmhouse that dates back to the 16th century, with 19th-century additions and 20th-century alterations. It features a blue lias plinth, while the rest of the building is rendered, which likely conceals close-studded timber-framing. The upper part of the forward-facing gable is weather-boarded. The roof is covered with red tiles and has brick stacks. The main body of the house is L-shaped, with a jettied gable facing forward on the right side. There is a 19th-century blue lias extension at the rear left. The windows are arranged irregularly, with the main body lit by two 20th-century two-light steel casements. A 20th-century part-glazed door is located on the right. The forward-facing gable has two 3-light 20th-century casements with transoms and horizontal glazing bars. Inside, the farmhouse features deep-chamfered beams with diamond stops, some of which have a moulded bar at the point of the diamond, and the stops are not in matching pairs. Moulded stops can also be found on the joists.
