Description

Milestone located opposite Spring Gardens Garage, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It features an arched stone base overlaid with a triangular cast-iron section. The letters are presented in relief. The top of the milestone reads "LEEDS & HARROGATE ROAD HAREWOOD." The left face indicates distances to Wetherby at 6¼ miles and Boston at 7 miles, while the right face shows distances to Harrogate at 7 miles and Otley at 8¼ miles. Additionally, it notes Leeds at 8 miles and Tadcaster at 11 miles.
