Windmill Approximately 30 Metres West Of Mill Farmhouse

The building is a tower windmill located approximately 30 metres west of Mill Farmhouse in Garforth, Kippax. It is likely from the 18th century and has undergone alterations. The windmill is constructed from coursed magnesian limestone blocks and features a stone slate roof on the south wing. The circular tower consists of four stages that taper in height, but the original superstructure is missing and has been replaced with four courses of modern brick laid on a wooden frame where the former cap was located. There are opposed raised doorways on the east and west sides, an altered basement doorway, and three vertically aligned square windows on the south-east side, along with four similar windows on the west side.

Attached to the south side is a low two-storey wing that includes a doorway and a square cart door at the ground floor, as well as a raised door to the first floor flanked by small square windows, which are damaged. The wing has a hipped roof.

Inside, the tower and wing are interconnected by a round-headed archway at the basement level, and the tower features massive oak beams and frame. An addition on the north side is not included in this listing.
