Description

This is an inscribed direction stone, likely dating from 1834, which is set on the south end of the garden wall of Langton House at 215 High Street in Boston Spa. The stone is made of ashlar magnesian limestone and is positioned with its edge facing Spa Lane. It is inscribed with the words 'TO THE SPA BATHS', serving as an interesting reminder of the historical significance of Boston Spa. The stone is included for its group value.
