Description

This is a house dating from the early 19th century, located on the north side of High Street in Boston Spa. It is constructed of ashlar magnesian limestone with a Welsh slate roof. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. A large, 20th-century flat-roofed porch with casement windows sits on a plinth wall, concealing a central part-glazed, panelled door and a leaded fanlight. The ground floor bays feature large, unequally-hung 20-pane sashes with thin stone sills and flat arches. Above, on the first floor, are matching 16-pane sashes in similar openings. Cement-rendered stacks are visible on the right end and at the rear of the ridge, to the left. On the left return, a two-storey canted bay window incorporates three 16-pane sashes on each floor, separated by fluted wooden mullions and with fretted wooden panels above each sash.
