Description
This listing describes a pair of semi-detached houses located on the north side of High Street in Boston Spa. The houses date to the early 19th century and are constructed of coursed, squared magnesian limestone with a Welsh slate roof. The pair is symmetrical in design, with four bays each.
Number 227, on the right-hand side, features a panelled double-door with a fanlight containing radial glazing bars, all set within an ashlar surround with a raised keystone. To the right of the door is a two-storey bow window with projecting sills and three 12-pane sashes on each floor, topped with a flat roof. Above the door is a sash window with glazing bars and a projecting stone sill, finished with a flat arch. Number 225, the mirrored house, has a six-panel single-leaf door. The roof is hipped and incorporates a yellow-brick ridge stack on the left side and a rendered ridge stack on the right.
