Description
No. 82 Fitzwilliam Street is a mid-19th century building constructed from hammer-dressed stone, featuring a hipped slate roof. The structure has a deeply moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course, topped by a tall parapet with flanking pilasters at the center. It showcases moulded strings and impost bands, along with rusticated quoins that are rock-faced on the ground floor.
The façade includes six ranges of round-arched windows, each with pointed hoodmoulds. The center two windows are paired and separated by a colonnette with a crocketed capital. On the second floor, the windows form a continuous arcade, also separated by colonettes with crocketed capitals, with the spaces in between being blind.
The entrance features a round-arched door with six moulded panels, set within an ashlar portal that includes a moulded cornice, foliate impost blocks, and cable-moulded sides and voussoirs.
