Description
The South African War Memorial, located in Crow Nest Park, 300 yards east of Crow Nest House, commemorates the South African War (1899-1902). The memorial features a life-sized bronze statue of an infantryman holding a rifle. The base of the memorial is made of square, stepped red granite. Each side of the base displays a bronze plaque listing the names of those who fell, organized by regiment.
