Description
Number 25 and the two adjoining warehouses are 19th-century buildings, dated 1864. They are constructed from dressed stone with rusticated quoins and ashlar dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof featuring heavily moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course on console brackets. The buildings rise three storeys and include sill bands and a panelled frieze beneath a dentilled cornice over the ground floor.
The main facade is three bays wide and two bays deep, presenting a symmetrical appearance with a tall central doorway that has a double panelled door and a deep segmental-headed fanlight above. A shield displaying a ram and the date 1864 is positioned above the door. The windows on either side of the doorway have segmental heads with deep keystones and architrave surrounds, complemented by ashlar aprons. The first-floor windows are paired with round arched heads and architraves, while the second floor features three simple lights.
To the left of the main building are two warehouse blocks, built slightly later. The first block has four bays of windows similar to those on the main facade but with a simpler design and includes a loading door on each floor. The second block consists of three bays on the front and extends ten bays deep with four storeys. It features a central loading door on each floor, segment-headed windows on the ground floor, paired round arched windows on the first and second floors, and simple lights on the third floor. The side elevation displays ten bays of industrial casements with raised sills.
