Description

No. 233 Bradford Road is a textile warehouse built around 1880, with an extension added around 1890 and some minor alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features Welsh slate roofs with two stacks. It has quoins, a rusticated plinth, and bracketed eaves. The structure is three storeys high, with a street-facing facade that includes four windows.

On the ground floor, there are four round-headed plain sash windows, each with a moulded impost band and arches that feature ornate carved keystones. A moulded band runs along the first floor, above which are four plain sash windows with a moulded continuous impost and hoods. The second floor has a similar arrangement with four slightly smaller plain sash windows, also with a continuous impost band and hoods.

The right return of the building has an 11-window front arranged in a 7:4 pattern, with a wing to the right that is a slightly later addition. The left section features six round-headed openings with flush keystones, along with a cart entrance to the right that has a 20th-century sliding door. Above this, there are seven plain sash windows, one of which has been converted into a fire escape door. The upper section again has seven smaller plain sash windows, with one also converted to a fire escape door. The right section includes a single door and three plain sash windows, with four sash windows on both upper floors.
