Description
This is a six-storey woollen mill building located at the southern part of Batley Carr Mills, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with gable copings and stone brackets supporting the gutter. The building has a total of 12 bays across its width and 4 bays in depth.
On the south side, there are loading doors located in the 12th bay and later fire escapes added to the 1st bay. The north side consists of 11 bays, with the leftmost bay being a later stone addition topped with brick. The gable facing Mill Road showcases 4 bays of wooden casements on each floor, along with a Venetian window at the apex, which retains early glazing bars in two of its lights.
