231, Bradford Road

No. 231 on Bradford Road is a wool warehouse built around 1875. It features an ashlar facade with ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof, designed in the Italianate style. The building is three stories tall and has a street front with three windows. The ground floor is rusticated and includes a round-headed doorway on the left, framed by an ornate ashlar surround with fluted pilasters and paired brackets that support a segmental pediment. This pediment is adorned with a cartouche, and the doorway has double panel doors with a plain fanlight.

To the left of the doorway, there are two segment-headed plain sash windows set in recessed surrounds, each with vermiculated keystones and panel aprons. On the second floor, there are three casement windows in moulded ashlar surrounds, with brackets supporting pediments; the central window features a segmental pediment. The windows on the center and right have false balconies with bulbous balustrades. Above these, there are three smaller casement windows, also in moulded ashlar surrounds, with bracketed hoods and ornate curved sides. The left return of the building has an obscured ground floor, while the upper floors feature casement windows with continuous sill bands and a bracketed eaves band.
