Description
No. 114 High Street is a warehouse built in the early 18th century and refronted around 1840. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, with a stucco front featuring rusticated chamfered quoins and dressings. It has a hipped 20th-century plain-tile roof, with stone slates on the rear, and a 19th-century brick lateral stack at the back. The layout is L-shaped, with a rear left range.
The warehouse is two storeys tall and has a three-window range. On the right side, there are rusticated architraves framing plank double doors, while the left side features early 19th-century eight-pane sash windows and a four-pane sash window. The rear wing, dating from the 18th century, is made of coursed limestone rubble and has a gabled stone slate roof with a late 19th-century brick end stack. There is also a similar two-storey projection to the left and a late 19th-century range with a Welsh slate roof at the rear. The interior has not been inspected, but the building is included for its group value.
