Description
No. 10 Bridge Street is an 18th-century house that was refronted around 1780. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a stucco front. The building features a gabled stone slate roof, with brick ridge and end stacks, and a left end stack made of stone finished in brick. The house has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a symmetrical five-window range.
There is a moulded cornice above a late 19th or early 20th century half-glazed door, which is flanked by pilasters and lights, topped with an elaborate decorative overlight that includes a central fanlight. To the left, there is a late 19th century four-panelled door with an overlight. The windows are late 19th century sashes set within moulded architraves that have eared bases, and fluted pilasters adorn the façade. The house also features three gabled roof dormers and has a rear left wing from the 18th century. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
