Description

Albert Mill, built in 1854, is a three-storey structure made of hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and a pitched stone slate roof. The building features a modillion eaves cornice and a blocking course. It has continuous sill and impost bands on the first and ground floors, and a total of 15 ranges of windows with glazing bars. The ground floor windows are round-arched, adorned with rock-faced voussoirs and keystones.

The entrance bay is flanked by giant rusticated pilasters topped with urns, and features a semi-circular panel inscribed with "Albert Mills 1854" in sans-serif capitals. The double doors are set within a semi-circular arch, complete with a moulded surround and a vermiculated keystone. On the first floor, there are two oculi with keystones, while the second floor has a pair of round-arched windows that include a central colonnette, consoles supporting moulded voussoirs, and a keystone.

To the north, there is a one-storey extension with a pitched slate roof supported by stone brackets at the gutter. This extension has 10 segment-headed windows with glazing bars, plain raised voussoirs, a continuous plain raised impost band, and a continuous sill band. The south elevation features a parapet with a shaped west terminal.
