Description
Masonic Hall, built in the 1850s, is a two-storey stone building with a slate roof, featuring a basement and attic. The façade has four bays, with a rusticated ground floor that includes an entablature adorned with a foliated frieze. Above this is a top bracketed frieze and cornice, topped with a balustrade. The ends of the building are framed by rusticated pilasters, which also frame the entrance bay on the right. The basement features tripartite windows with roll moulded architraves, flanking a similar entrance. The ground floor has round-headed blind windows alongside Venetian windows. The entrance is highlighted by a round-headed Ionic doorcase with a shell-moulded tympanum displaying arms. The first-floor windows are equipped with balustraded balconies and have flat architraves, foliated friezes, and consoled segmental pediments; the second bay features an open pediment that also contains arms. The building is topped with a mansard roof that has flat-topped dormers.
