Description

Cleckheaton Viaduct is a viaduct built around 1896. It features 12 iron lattice piers set on large brick plinths with stone copings. The deck consists of six longitudinal brick barrel vaults supported by iron beams, which rest on transverse iron beams atop each lattice pier. The structure is finished with hammer dressed stone parapets that have ashlar coping. The viaduct was constructed to connect the town centre with the railway station located on the opposite side of the valley.
