Description

Nos 5 to 15 Wellhouse Fields is a mid-19th century terrace of cottages, originally consisting of six but now comprising five. The cottages are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a plinth, with a continuous sill band that is more pronounced on the first floor. They have a pitched stone slate roof and a coped gable on the southeast side, along with six chimney stacks and stone brackets on the string course. The buildings are two storeys high.

On the southeast elevation, the ground floor has five entrances with stone surrounds and tie-stones, along with two three-light stone mullioned windows, five four-light stone mullioned windows, and one single-light window. The first floor features one eleven-light stone mullioned window (with two lights blocked up to create three three-light windows), three six-light stone mullioned windows, one seven-light stone mullioned window, and one eight-light stone mullioned window.

The northwest elevation includes five late-20th century entrances, as well as single-light and three-light mullioned windows with stone surrounds on the ground floor. The first floor has one six-light stone mullioned window, one five-light stone mullioned window, two three-light stone mullioned windows, two two-light stone mullioned windows, one single-light window, and three late-20th century two-light stone mullioned windows.
