Description
Cop and Barn is a late 18th century to early 19th century former farmhouse and barn that are combined in one range. The building features hammer-dressed stone quoins on the house and has a pitched stone slate roof. It stands two storeys tall.
On the east elevation of the house, the ground floor includes a central doorway with stone surrounds, which may be of a later date. There is one former four-light stone mullioned window that is now blocked, along with another single opening that is also blocked and possibly of a later date. The first floor has one former seven-light stone mullioned window, of which one opening remains with the central mullion removed, and one former two-light stone mullioned window that is now blocked. The south gable has small openings at the apex, as well as a large modern garage doorway. The west elevation features single openings on each floor, both of which are now blocked.
The barn's east elevation has a large central doorway with a segmental arched head, pronounced keystone, stone surrounds, and tie-stones. Above the door is a small light with a semicircular false arched head. There are small doorways on either side of the central door, both with stone surrounds; one has tie-stones, while the other features chamfered reveals and is likely of a later date.
