Description

This sundial, dated 1750, is located to the south of John Nelson's study in the burial ground of the Methodist Chapel in Birstall. It was built by John Nelson and features a round pedestal with roll moulding. The square top has clearly incised figures and an inscription that reads "John Nelson 1750." Please note that the gnomon is missing.
