Detached residence, now flats. Early C.19. incorporating early C.18 building. Hammer dressed stone with quoins. Stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 5 bays. Boldly castellated parapet. Group of 4 tall ashlar stacks. Bays 2 and 4 are slender and break forward, each with door with fanlight and deep lintel with double half round mouldings. 2-light window to each bay, both floors. To rear is very large central thermal window, and 3 double chamfered windows, with no mullions. The right side elevation has continuous hollow chamfered drip moulding, presumably from earlier buildings, which is broken by the C.19 openings.

The house was the home of Ellen Nussey, friend and correspondent of Charlotte Bronte.
