Description

This sundial, dated 1747, is located in the churchyard to the south of the nave. It is made of stone and sits on a medieval cross-base. The base is square with a chamfer. The sundial pillar has a square section with a moulded capital and base. The central shaft bulges out towards the bottom and is inscribed with "J.B.R.A. (indecipherable) 1747." The sundial plate is signed and dated "carlisle Spedding 1746."
