Description

New Hall is a large house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, with later additions. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with rusticated ashlar quoins, and has a stone slate roof with gable copings. The main facade is a symmetrical three-bay design with a central portico featuring paired Greek Doric columns, an entablature, and a pediment. Large two-light sash windows are located on either side of the portico and sash windows with plain surrounds are on the first floor. A thermal window is within the pediment-like gable. A later addition is visible to the left, and a single-storey addition, built in a matching style, extends to the right. The rear elevation includes a thermal window within the gable, as well as a round arched staircase window and a two-tier round arched window at first floor level.
