Description
This barn, located 20 yards to the west of Lower Busker Farmhouse, dates back to 1633 and has been altered over time. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features quoins, topped with a stone slate roof. The main structure includes an outshut on the right and a lower addition to the right of this, with an outshut at the rear left.
The barn has a square-headed cart entry with a large quoinstone, which may be a reset door-head, also dated 1633. To the left of the entry, there is a two-light window with a later inserted doorway. On the first floor, there are one two-light and one three-light window, all of which are double chamfered. A drip mould runs over the ground floor openings. The outshut on the right features late 18th-century openings, and there is a mistal door in the addition to the right. The left gable has two two-light double chamfered windows on the ground floor, both with hood moulds, and a five-light late 18th-century window on the first floor, which has six-pane lights. There are later additions to the rear left that are not of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
