Description

This barn, located 5 metres to the west of Sunderland House Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a slate roof. The front has a symmetrical basket-arched cart entry, which is adorned with raised rusticated voussoirs. Above this entry, there is a 2-light flat-faced mullioned window with a hoodmould. The mistal doorways are topped with ogee lintels and have tie stone jambs. The barn includes circular ventilators that have four raised keystones. It also features gutter brackets and coped gables with kneelers. At the apex, there are additional circular ventilators with a quatrefoil design. A stack is located on the left gable.
