Description
This is a late 18th-century milestone located on the canal towpath to the north of Todmorden Lock Number 19. The small arched stone features the inscription: "S I O Manr. 2 2 :," indicating the distance to Sowerby Bridge and Manchester. Milestones for the canal are rare.
